Jazz Fest 2012

I recently attended the New Orleans tradition that is Jazz Fest. On a bright and sunny Thursday morning, I somehow meandered my way down to the Fair Grounds (which by-the-way is the oldest still operation race track in the country) with some friends to check out some amazing music, eat some incredible food, and take in the spectacle that is the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
It was hot and muggy but thankfully we had access to the Miller VIP Tent – you get a few free beers, stools, tables, and most importantly misting fans (alot of misting fans).

There were two headliners playing at the same time, Jimmy Buffet – Acoustic on the Acura Stage and Florence and the Machine on the Gentilly Stage. I caught Florence first (which was amazing – her voice is just as good as in the studio if not better) and once that was over headed over to catch the last 30 or so minutes of Jimmy Buffet. And apparently he didn't know or just didn't care about his 7:00 finish time and just played through 7:20, which was nice since I only got to catch the last little bit of his performance.
